Introduction

Exploratour is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why and how we use it.

Data collected

We collect the following data:

  • User account: email address and password (encrypted) via Firebase Authentication.
  • Geolocation: GPS position used in real-time during trails and treasure hunts (only with your consent). Never sent to our servers. In Game Mode, a local history of your movements is kept only on your device to display your exploration progress. This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via 'Delete all data' in settings.
  • Game progression: completed trails, solved riddles, visited POIs, unlocked achievements. Stored locally and synced via Firebase Firestore if you are signed in.
  • Photos: photos taken in the app are stored only on your device. They are never sent to our servers.
  • Usage data: Firebase Analytics collects anonymized usage data (events, session duration). Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports to improve app stability.
  • Contact data: name, email and message sent via the contact form.

Purposes

  • Provide and improve the Exploratour service.
  • Analyze usage to improve trails and content.
  • Fix bugs via crash reports.
  • Respond to user requests.

Storage and security

Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers located in Europe. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access. Data is protected by Firebase App Check, encryption in transit (TLS) and Firestore security rules.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Firebase services (Google) process data in accordance with their privacy policy.

Your rights (GDPR)

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate information
  • Right to deletion of your data
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing

Cookies

The site uses technical cookies necessary for the service (authentication, language preferences). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
