Look at the app before you download it.

The cities covered, the ways to play, and what actually happens on the pavement. It all plays out in the app, free to start.

The app in seven screens

This is what it looks like.

The visuals from the Play Store listing, in the order you meet them.

  • Discover screen: city picker, search, Itineraries and Trail games tabs
  • Itinerary map: the route, the numbered stops and the distance to the next one
  • Audio guide: Charlotte narrates, with the transcript and the speed control
  • Past / Present mode: Place Bellecour in 1910 compared with today
  • Treasure hunt navigation: compass, distance in metres and GPS accuracy
  • Puzzle: weaving the connections of the silk workers' district, with a hint button
  • Élise, the companion character, cheers the player on during a trail

Demo

Charlotte introduces the walk.

The Fourvière & Old Lyon itinerary, introduced in the app by Charlotte, the guide who stays with you the whole way.

Ways to play

Three families of adventures, one app.

Narrated itineraries

A guided walk, at your own pace.

From 7 to 13 stops, an audio guide that speaks when you arrive. No shared headset, no group, no departure time.

  • Audio narration triggered on arrival, with the transcript if you would rather read
  • Adjustable playback speed, and you can skip a line
  • The route follows the streets: the distance shown is what is left to walk
  • Notification as you near a stop, even with the phone in your pocket
  • Sources cited: municipal archives, photo collections
  • A discovery gauge and bonus places to find on a detour
  • Historic map layers to unlock, to see the city as it was in 1820

Puzzle trails

A character guides you, the city answers.

Élise, Charlotte and the others tell you about their neighbourhood and set their puzzles. The answers are on the facades, not in the phone.

  • A companion who narrates, reacts and cheers you on at every stop
  • Varied puzzles: quizzes, free text, ordering, chronology, connecting threads, Jacquard code
  • A hint to ask for when you are stuck, without giving the answer away
  • Points per puzzle and a progress bar that moves
  • An anecdote for every correct answer, so you leave actually knowing things
  • An adventurer's bag where the collected images pile up
  • A final rebus to piece together and reveal the hidden name

Treasure hunts

Hidden checkpoints, a compass, your legs.

No map holding your hand: a direction, a distance, and the place to recognise when you get there.

  • Compass and distance in metres, updated as you walk
  • The validation zone widens by itself when the GPS is approximate
  • A photo of the meeting point and a riddle to solve on the spot
  • A GPS solution if you really need to get unstuck
  • A thermometer that warms up as you get closer
  • A hunt journal and a badge at the end

Past / Present

The same square, five eras.

At certain places the app opens a timeline of eras: 1713, 1910, 1914, 1947. You frame your photo the way the photographer did back then, slide the opacity to blend the two images, or set them side by side. Every view credits its sources and links back to the original.

  • A timeline of eras per place, from engraving to photograph
  • Adjustable blend, side-by-side mode, full screen
  • Your photo stays on your phone, saved only if you want to keep it
  • Credited sources, with a link to the original in the archives
  • A free mode to compare your own family photos

In the app

And everything around it.

  • The city map

Every adventure around you on a full-screen map, filtered between itineraries and trail games.

  • Photos to explore

Some photos open full screen with tappable spots: each detail zooms in and tells its story.

  • Narrative scenes

The guide appears as a portrait, the text types itself, the voice follows. A conversation, not a sign to read.

  • Travel journal

Everything you read and heard is filed into a journal, with your own notes if you want them.

  • Levels and points

Every finished adventure earns experience, with a breakdown of the gains and ten levels to climb.

  • Achievements and badges

Titles to unlock by category and items to collect, from common to legendary.

  • Gallery and library

Your outing photos in a gallery, your ongoing and finished adventures in a library.

And also

The details that make the outing.

  • I have a code

An access code handed out by a city, a tourist office or a museum unlocks the adventure straight in the app.

  • Offline

Download the adventure on wifi, play without network. The guide, the maps and the puzzles are in the pack.

  • Find it in two taps

Filter by what is near you, by level or by length. Every card states the time, the difficulty and the distance.

  • Free to start

Free adventures in every city, marked with a badge. The rest is bought one at a time, no subscription.

  • French and English

Text, audio and puzzles exist in both languages, for visitors and locals alike.

  • Privacy

Your photos stay on your phone. Your account can be deleted in one step, from the app or from this site.
